Ex-Dagestan Head Melikov Appointed Senator from Bryansk Region

Sergei Melikov, who resigned as head of Dagestan in May following deadly floods, has been appointed as a senator representing the Bryansk region. This is a routine political appointment in Russia's federal structure, indicating continuity in regional governance. The move is notable for Melikov's transition from a regional executive role to a legislative one, but carries no immediate market or geopolitical implications.
