Trump Open to Military Base in Venezuela, Signals Expanded US Footprint

President Trump declined to rule out establishing a US military base in Venezuela, stating 'We are evaluating doing many things.' This marks a potential major shift in US force posture in South America, though no concrete plans were announced. The statement, made en route to Air Force One, is ambiguous but signals possible escalation of US military presence in the region.
