Flanders residual waste hits record low of 123 kg per capita

Flanders' average residual waste fell to 123.4 kg per person in 2025, the lowest since records began, according to OVAM data cited by Environment Minister Jo Brouns. This continues a downward trend in waste reduction, though the rate of decline and policy drivers remain unspecified. The achievement signals effective waste management policy but has limited immediate market impact.
