Ecuador establishes compensation framework for emergency power generation

The Ecuadorian Agency for Regulation and Control of Electricity (ARCONEL) has issued resolution ARCONEL-2026-0013-RES to define the compensation mechanism for energy produced by emergency generator sets. This measure aims to formalize the integration of private or auxiliary power sources into the national grid to mitigate ongoing energy supply constraints.
