Fortum subsidiary seeks state support for 3.4GW nuclear expansion in Sweden

Finnish energy group Fortum has initiated a formal request for state risk-sharing to develop up to 3,400 megawatts of new nuclear capacity at the Ävrö site near Oskarshamn. The project remains in the preliminary planning phase, contingent upon Swedish government policy shifts and financial guarantees.
