Romanian Orthodox Spokesman Attacks Georgescu Supporters as Sectarian

Constantin Bănescu, former spokesman of the Romanian Patriarchate, launched a scathing critique of supporters of presidential candidate Călin Georgescu, labeling their behavior as pathological and sectarian. This reflects deepening political polarization in Romania ahead of elections, with religious figures entering the fray. The attack may signal establishment efforts to discredit Georgescu's populist movement.
