France issues orange alerts for severe thunderstorms and hail across southeastern departments

Météo-France has placed 16 departments under orange alert for intense electrical activity, large hail, and wind gusts as a heatwave recedes. The storm system is expected to persist through Friday, with the number of affected departments projected to decrease by the afternoon.
