Peru PM insists Congress grant full powers; deputies approved only six of eight

Peruvian Prime Minister Luis Galarreta told the Senate Constitution Commission that the delegation of powers approved by the Chamber of Deputies is insufficient, as the Executive requested authority on eight matters but received only six. He acknowledged the government can act on citizen insecurity without the delegation, but argues full powers are needed to address the country's problems. The Senate's decision will determine the scope of executive authority, a key political test for the administration.
