TSE ruling paves way for Douglas Ruas to become Rio governor

Brazil's Superior Electoral Court annulled votes for Anthony Garotinho in the Rio de Janeiro gubernatorial election, likely making PL candidate Douglas Ruas the winner in the first round. The decision awaits official confirmation by the regional electoral court, which will recalculate votes. This marks a significant shift in Rio's political leadership, with potential implications for state governance and federal-state relations.
