Poland amends Code of Criminal Procedure to allow judicial review of witness counsel access

An amendment to the Polish Code of Criminal Procedure, known as Lex Skrzypek, has entered into force, granting witnesses the right to seek judicial review when prosecutors deny their legal counsel access to interrogations. This reform shifts oversight of procedural rights from the prosecutor's office to the judiciary, potentially increasing defense protections in criminal investigations.
