Belgium blocks 100M fraudulent calls in H1 2026, 70% spoofed

Belgian telecom operators intercepted over 100 million fraudulent calls in H1 2026, with more than 74 million involving number spoofing. Additionally, 7.2 million fraudulent SMS and 419 million fraudulent emails were blocked, and about 6,000 fraudulent Belgian mobile numbers were identified. This indicates a sustained and significant cyber-enabled fraud campaign targeting Belgian citizens, highlighting the scale of telecom-based social engineering.
