Romania president appoints Lucian Niculescu PM to break political deadlock

Romania's president has appointed Lucian Niculescu as prime minister, tasked with forming a cabinet and securing a parliamentary confidence vote within ten days. This move aims to resolve a prolonged political deadlock, though its success depends on Niculescu's ability to build a coalition. The outcome will determine Romania's near-term governance stability and its capacity to address fiscal and EU-funding priorities.
