Mexican opposition party members propose restrictive voting criteria

Members of the National Action Party (PAN) have proposed implementing mandatory knowledge exams for voters and, separately, suggested restricting female suffrage. While these proposals lack party-wide endorsement and have faced immediate backlash, they have introduced controversial discourse regarding democratic participation into the national political debate.
