Hundreds of Israeli settlers stage Al-Aqsa incursions under police guard during Sukkot

Hundreds of Israeli settlers entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in Jerusalem under Israeli police protection during the Jewish Sukkot holiday, according to a Jerusalem Islamic Waqf official. The incursions, which included ritual acts, are a recurring pattern but the scale during Sukkot marks a notable escalation in religious-nationalist provocations. The development heightens tensions in Jerusalem and could trigger Palestinian protests or regional condemnation.
