Russia claims 16 firms now produce fully domestic robots, up from zero

Russian PM Mishustin announced that 16 Russian companies now produce industrial robots using only domestic components, a first after years of import dependence. The claim is unverified and likely overstated, but signals a strategic push for technological self-sufficiency amid sanctions. This matters as it reflects Russia's efforts to reduce reliance on foreign tech, though actual production scale and quality remain uncertain.
