A study from the Aapresid Cover Crop Network challenges the efficacy of traditional fallowing, revealing that long fallow periods result in the loss of 271-409 mm of water through evaporation and percolation. The findings suggest that current agricultural management practices in Argentina may be suboptimal for moisture retention, potentially impacting future crop yields.
