Lima mayoral candidate accuses JNE of bias in López Aliaga case days before vote

Susel Paredes, Lima mayoral candidate, publicly criticized Peru's National Elections Jury (JNE) for failing to resolve the legal situation of rival candidate Rafael López Aliaga one week before the election, alleging the JNE is effectively favoring him. JNE President Roberto Burneo stated the Pleno will decide, leaving the matter unresolved and adding uncertainty to the electoral contest.
