Peru: 9 regions on red alert for El Niño-driven forest fire risk

Peru's meteorological service (Senamhi) has placed nine regions on red alert for forest fires, citing drought conditions linked to the El Niño phenomenon. The alert reflects an elevated risk of fire spread due to lack of rain, though no active fires are reported in this item. This underscores the regional impact of El Niño on fire-prone ecosystems and public safety.
