Kerala begins removal of illegally dumped chemical waste in Eriyad village

Authorities in Kerala have begun removing chemical-laced soil illegally dumped in Eriyad village, Thrissur district, by parties linked to the defunct Binani Zinc Limited. The waste was transported under the guise of fill material, prompting environmental and health concerns. The removal, ordered by the RDO, is expected to be completed within two days, but the source of the contamination and responsible parties remain under investigation.
