Buenos Aires province probes Mercado Pago and fintechs over debt collection practices

The Buenos Aires provincial government has launched an investigation into Mercado Pago and other digital wallets regarding alleged harassment of debtors and opaque financial cost disclosures. The Cámara Argentina Fintech has formally rejected these claims, arguing that advertised rates do not accurately represent the actual costs incurred by users.
