Euronews·ES·1 day ago
A large-scale wildfire in the Zaragoza province has destroyed 7,600 hectares, prompting a deployment of over 400 firefighters and military personnel. The fire's rapid spread is exacerbated by ongoing extreme heatwave conditions, with containment status currently uncertain.
Multiple significant wildfires are active across Spain, with confirmed fatalities and extensive destruction. The Los Gallardos wildfire in Almería resulted in 13 confirmed fatalities and destroyed 52 square kilometers of forest. Separately, major blazes in the Aragon and Zaragoza regions have consumed at least 12,000 hectares, exacerbated by ongoing heatwave conditions.
