Nepal faces high risk of GLOF as glacial lake volume projected to reach 3 million cubic meters

Persistent rainfall is driving the rapid expansion of a glacial lake formed by recent flash flooding in Nepal. Hydrological models indicate the lake could reach a volume of three million cubic meters within 72 hours, significantly increasing the risk of a catastrophic Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF).
