Two men pursued in Corsica for vandalizing Virgin Mary statue

Two seasonal workers, aged 21 and 23, are being pursued after damaging a statue of the Virgin Mary in Porto-Vecchio, Corsica-du-Sud, during the night of October 1-2. They were arrested Thursday morning while intoxicated; videos on social media show one hanging from the statue. The incident is a local act of vandalism with potential religious and cultural sensitivity, but no broader geopolitical or market implications.
