Fenalco lobbies for repeal of Colombian ultra-processed food and sugary drink tax

The Colombian retail federation Fenalco is backing legislation to repeal the tax on ultra-processed foods and sugary drinks, which has generated over $361 billion COP in revenue through July 2026. It remains uncertain if the administration will support the repeal given the fiscal reliance on these tax receipts.
