Coastal erosion in French Caribbean exposes and destroys historic slave burial sites

Rising sea levels and accelerated coastal erosion in Martinique and Guadeloupe are unearthing previously submerged or buried graves of enslaved individuals. While the exposure provides new archaeological data, the ongoing environmental degradation is simultaneously destroying these culturally significant sites.
