Prolonged power outages persist in Northwest Indiana following severe storm

Approximately 68,000 households in Northwest Indiana remain without electricity nine days after a severe storm caused widespread damage to power infrastructure. The city of Gary remains the most affected area, with restoration efforts expected to continue for several more days. The event, which included 160 km/h winds, resulted in seven fatalities and significant destruction of the electrical grid.
