Astronomers detect most distant fast radio burst, 10 billion light-years away

An international team detected and traced the most distant fast radio burst (FRB) to date, originating from a galaxy when the universe was ~3 billion years old. The burst's origin and cause remain uncertain, but the finding pushes observational limits and may refine models of FRB progenitors and intergalactic medium.
