Eritrean troops enter Tigray, raising fears of open war after diplomatic rupture

Witnesses report dozens of Eritrean soldiers crossing into Ethiopia's Tigray region near Adigrat, days after both countries severed diplomatic ties. The incursion, if confirmed, marks a significant escalation from diplomatic rupture to potential military confrontation, reviving the 1998-2000 border war dynamics. The situation is developing, with troop numbers and intent unverified.
