Malema pledges free water, power, bigger RDP homes in NMB election pitch

EFF leader Julius Malema made expansive local election promises in Nelson Mandela Bay, including free water and electricity, larger RDP houses, expanded social grants, and free school meals and uniforms. These pledges exceed municipal authority, signaling a populist campaign strategy ahead of the 2026 local elections. The feasibility and fiscal implications remain uncertain, but the move underscores the EFF's bid to capture the metro.
