Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries recovers 1,000 abandoned fishing nets

The Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries has retrieved 1,000 lost fishing nets and significant quantities of additional gear during the first phase of an annual cleanup expedition. The operation, spanning the coast from Ålesund to Kirkenes, aims to mitigate the environmental impact of ghost fishing gear in Arctic and North Atlantic waters.
