Lublin reopens Cold War shelter, exit faces west as Russia threat shifts

Lublin, Poland, has reopened a Cold War-era air raid shelter, with its emergency exit now facing west instead of east—a symbolic shift reflecting that the perceived threat now comes from Russia, not the Soviet Union. This move signals heightened regional preparedness amid intensified Russian attacks on Ukraine, though it is largely precautionary and not indicative of imminent conflict in Poland.
