Inquiry clears RUC officers of collusion in 1997 Co Armagh murder

An official inquiry has concluded that four RUC officers parked near the scene of the 1997 loyalist murder of a Catholic man in Co Armagh did not collude with the attackers and could not have prevented the assault. The finding addresses long-standing allegations of police collusion during the Northern Ireland Troubles, but may not fully resolve community distrust. The inquiry's independence and scope remain points of contention.
