Bayelsa Governor Praises Abacha at 30th Anniversary, Honors Jonathan

Bayelsa Governor Douye Diri credited late military ruler Sani Abacha with freeing the Ijaw people from oppression by creating Bayelsa State in 1996, during the state's 30th anniversary celebrations. The event also honored former President Goodluck Jonathan and 61 others. This is a domestic political narrative, not a market-moving development.
