Chinese study: offshore wind farms degrade shore radar, create blind spots

A peer-reviewed Chinese study quantifies radar degradation from offshore wind farms: at 5 km range, effective coverage drops 6.9% and blind spots rise 14.9%. This is a first detailed quantification of a known interference issue, relevant to coastal defense and wind farm siting. Implications for naval surveillance and energy infrastructure planning are significant but not yet operationalized.
