Australian government internal estimates project 145,000 autism support removals from NDIS by 2030

Internal government documents indicate a significant narrowing of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) eligibility criteria, targeting a reduction of 144,600 participants by 2030. The policy shift aims to refocus the $52 billion scheme on individuals with the most complex needs, with nearly two-thirds of those losing access expected to be under 18 years old.
