Chilean Gendarmería Confirms Death of Convicted Killer Aliste Vega in Prison

Chile's Gendarmería confirmed the death of Juan Manuel Aliste Vega, a former Movimiento Lautaro member convicted of killing a Carabineros officer, in a brief statement on Sunday. The cause is described as a decompensation, though details remain sparse. This is a notable event in Chile's penal system, given Aliste Vega's high-profile conviction and political background.
