Ex-Sputnik Moldova editor used AI chatbot to craft anti-Sandu propaganda

A former chief editor of Sputnik Moldova reportedly used Anthropic's Claude AI to convert Moldovan and Romanian news, polls, and political posts into Russian-language propaganda targeting President Maia Sandu. The materials were distributed via the Sputnik Moldova Telegram channel and the Russian agency. This marks an instance of AI-enabled disinformation in an Eastern European information space, raising concerns about foreign influence operations.
