Romania allocates 16.6 billion euros in SAFE defense funding across national security and infrastructure agencies

The Romanian government has finalized the distribution of 16.6 billion euros from the SAFE program to bolster defense and security capabilities. The Ministry of National Defense (MApN) receives the largest share at 9.7 billion euros, followed by significant allocations to the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, signaling a focus on both military modernization and strategic infrastructure.
