US to file new charges against Maduro over alleged torture of Americans

US authorities are preparing new accusations against Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, potentially as early as Thursday, related to alleged torture of American citizens. This escalates US legal pressure on Maduro, who already faces federal drug trafficking charges, and signals a continued hardline stance. The move is part of an ongoing pattern of US indictments against Venezuelan officials, with the new charges adding a human rights dimension.
