Use of donkeys for wildfire mitigation in Spain

Spanish authorities are utilizing rehabilitated donkeys to graze vegetation in high-risk areas, aiming to reduce fuel loads and prevent the spread of wildfires. This initiative follows an early and severe start to the wildfire season in Southern Europe, which has already destroyed over 240,000 hectares in Spain.
