Greece reports 25.8% tourism revenue growth alongside widening current account deficit

Greece experienced a 20.9% increase in non-resident arrivals and a 25.8% rise in tourism revenue over the first five months of 2026. Despite this growth, the current account deficit expanded by 1.6 billion euros to 8.9 billion euros, indicating that import growth or other outflows are outpacing tourism gains.
