Yemen government launches major offensive against Houthis; tankers hit in Strait of Hormuz

Yemen's internationally recognized government announced a major offensive to oust Houthi forces, with President al-Alimi vowing to free the country. Concurrently, two tankers were struck by projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran recalled its ambassador to Yemen, signaling escalation. The attacks on shipping in a critical chokepoint raise risks of supply disruptions and broader regional conflict.
