Kordofan emerges as key corridor in Sudan war, 20% of attacks

Kordofan, the region linking Darfur and central Sudan, has become a focal point of the Sudanese civil war, accounting for one in five recorded attacks since April 2023. The corridor's strategic importance lies in its role connecting the east and west of the country, making it a critical battleground for control. The ongoing conflict continues to destabilize the region, with no clear resolution in sight.
