Brazil October electricity tariff flag green, no extra charge

Brazil's Mines and Energy Minister announced the October tariff flag will be green, removing the R$1.885/100kWh surcharge that applies under the current yellow flag. The announcement, made on the eve of elections, may carry political timing, but the underlying hydrological conditions support the change. This reduces consumer electricity costs and eases inflation pressure.
