Chile's Sernac initiates collective compensation procedures for storm-related power outages

Chile's National Consumer Service (Sernac) has launched Voluntary Collective Procedures (PVC) against six electric utility companies to secure compensation for customers affected by recent storm-induced outages. This mechanism aims to expedite restitution and avoid protracted class-action litigation. The effectiveness of these negotiations remains uncertain as the companies have yet to finalize settlement terms.
