Ex-Cameron adviser Steve Hilton mounts long-shot California governor bid

Steve Hilton, former Downing Street adviser and Fox News host, is running as a Republican for California governor, trailing Democrat Xavier Becerra by 20+ points. The campaign is a long-shot populist effort in a heavily Democratic state, with no indication of a shift in the state's political landscape.
