South Korea and U.S. launch shipbuilding partnership center for MASGA project

South Korea and the U.S. have inaugurated a joint shipbuilding partnership center in Seoul to facilitate the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) of U.S. naval vessels under the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul and Sustainment Global Architecture (MASGA) project. This initiative aims to integrate South Korean industrial capacity into the U.S. naval supply chain to address maintenance backlogs. The move signals a deepening of bilateral defense-industrial ties amid efforts to enhance regional maritime readiness.
