Viña del Mar loses fire detection system ahead of high-risk season; mayor urges action

Viña del Mar's ultra-early fire detection system has ended just before the high-risk season, prompting Mayor Macarena Ripamonti to urge the government to ensure its continuity. The loss removes a key tool for timely hotspot detection in the municipality and neighboring areas. The system's termination raises wildfire response risks in a region previously affected by major fires.
