Honduran hospital construction costs surge 158% over initial budget

The Secretariat of Infrastructure and Transport reports that three stalled hospital projects in Salamá, Ocotepeque, and Santa Bárbara have exceeded their original 690 million lempira budget by 158%. This cost overrun highlights significant fiscal mismanagement or planning failures from the previous administration, further delaying critical healthcare infrastructure.
