Swedish security guards fired for sharing personal data in chat

Seventeen security guards in Gothenburg were forced to leave their jobs after an internal investigation found they had shared social security numbers and names of at least 138 people in a chat group over seven years. The breach was discovered in May 2026. This raises concerns about data privacy and potential misuse of sensitive information by private security personnel.
